Support And Maintain Healthy Cholesterol Levels
Red yeast rice is a food product created by fermenting rice with a strain of red yeast. Recently red yeast rice extract, taken in supplement form, has been found both to reduce overall blood cholesterol levels and improve the HDL (good cholesterol) LDL (to bad cholesterol). A study conducted by the University of California, found that people who took red yeast rice and maintained a low fat diet reduced there overall cholesterol levels by an average of 40 points over a period of 12 weeks.
Policosanol is a natural mixture of higher aliphatic primary alcohols which can either be derived from sugar cane or bees wax. Research shows that policosanol from sugar cane has a better effect on cholesterol levels than policosanol from bees wax.
Policosanol is indicated as an adjunct to dietary recommendations to reduce LDL-C and Total Cholesterol Levels (Type II hypercholesterolemia) as in Atherosclerosis and Cardiovascular conditions, without any unsafe side affects caused by statins and medications. Policosinol works by slowing down the production of cholesterol in the liver while increasing the livers ability to reabsorb LDL. Unlike statin drugs that are usually used to lower elevated cholesterol levels, policosanol does not inhibit the HMG-CoA enzyme. For an overall healthy cardiovascular system try this great product.
